Tom’s Farm animals come to St Philip’s

We are delighted to welcome some new residents to St Philip’s. We have recently been joined by two rabbits and two pygmy goats from Tom’s Farm.

Tom’s Farm was founded at Nightingale Community Academy in Wandsworth, as an educational and therapeutic resource for its pupils, and is loaning some of its many animals to other schools in our Trust so more pupils can enjoy the benefits of having animals on site.

We are delighted to have Alice and Alma, two pygmy goats, with us this term. We also have two rabbits who are yet to be named. All the animals have settled in well and are already very popular with our pupils.

Having the animals on site, enables our pupils to learn practical skills for their Caring for Animals course and they are enjoying taking the goats for walks around the school grounds. The rabbits are great for cuddles and helping students to regulate and develop empathy skills.
