St Philip’s School Choir spread Christmas Cheer

Our newly formed school choir had its first public outing at Kingston Market on Thursday 4th December. Our numbers were swelled with the students from Orchard Hill College, Bedelsford School and Dysart School as we gathered in front of the stage at the Christmas Market.

Despite the drizzle, nothing could dampen the enthusiasm. A big highlight was Andrew’s fantastic solo performance of BandAid’s “Do they know it’s Christmas” and the choir’s version of Wham!’s “Last Christmas” which had everyone clapping along and feeling the Christmas magic.

We are incredibly grateful to the parents who came along and supported our students as they serenaded shoppers and passers-by.

We received some lovely feedback from one of the parents who emailed to say: “I cannot explain how the marketplace just transformed from being empty and quiet to suddenly being full of red hats and the most wonderful energy, the different schools, the children with all their friends, families.”

It was a lovely event filled with beautiful singing and community spirit. Thank you to everyone who took part and those who have supported the choir. We look forward to many more performances to come.
