The School celebrates achieving a Gold Attachment Aware Award
Having previously received bronze and silver awards, this year we are delighted to have been presented with a Gold Attachment Aware Award by the Mayor of Richmond, Cllr Penelope Frost. The achievement is a sought-after accolade for schools based in the boroughs of Kingston, Richmond, and Windsor and Maidenhead. St Philip’s was also one of only three schools to be asked to present its project to all other schools attending the ceremony.
Attaining gold was down to the extensive training our School’s staff undertook to become ‘attachment aware and trauma informed,’ and to the provision of training for parents. As part of the project, we also selected a number of KS4 students to take on the role of mentor for selected students in KS2/3.
Ben Walsh, Headteacher, says, “We are absolutely delighted to have achieved the award this year, an honour that is testament to the commitment and dedication of our staff and of the wider School community.”
