Post 16 Enterprise project donates profits to Food Bank

Students who have been working hard on the Post-16 Enterprise project ‘Beech Hut’ have raised over £100 in profit since September. Each week they plan and prepare a meal, take orders from staff, who very much enjoy the hot meal which can be lasagne, meatballs and various other favourite dishes.

It is fantastic experience for the students as they have to budget, shop for and prepare the food in the morning and make sure it is all ready to be served at lunchtime.

The group had a discussion on how they would like to use the money. They decided they would buy goods from the supermarket and donate to a local food bank.

Today Morgan, Christian and Jack delivered bags of food to ‘The Kings Centre.’ The staff were very grateful and explained to the young people how the donations would help many families over the festive period.
