Sushi

Japan Day in Primary Department

By Fiona Wilkins - December 20th, 2024 | Posted in Article

We began the day by making sushi and fresh noodles.

After break time we had visitors from the Japan Society who talked to us about Japanese writing and showed us how to paint Japanese characters with special calligraphy brushes.  They also showed us some origami. The Japan Society also kindly loaned us some resources and pupils enjoyed exploring the decorations, games, books and postcards in the resource pack.

In the afternoon we played Japanese versions of games such as; rock, paper scissors; tag; Grandma’s Footsteps and, Hide and Seek.
