Gym provides great work experience

Thanks you to the Ascension Team at Cross Fit Epsom who hosted one of our students Luke for work experience. He took on a variety of responsibilities from cleaning the gym, restocking the coffee shop to assisting on the till, shadowing the experienced coaches during classes, and lending a hand in moving equipment and class setups.

The staff praised his incredible work ethic and said Luke was a real asset to the team.

They said in a Facebook post, “We are honoured to have provided an inclusive environment where Luke could thrive and experience the joys of working within a fitness community. His infectious enthusiasm and positive attitude have left a mark and we hope to see him back.”

In the short week he spent at the gym, Luke showed so much dedication to CrossFit and his dreams of being involved in sport and fitness! He exemplified determination, passion and great spirit.

The gym also encouraged other local businesses to offer work experience, saying “This experience has reaffirmed our belief in the power of inclusion and the importance of supporting all aspects of our community. We encourage our fellow local businesses to embrace these opportunities for growth and help everyone realise their dreams. Together, we can make a significant impact in each other’s lives and foster a more inclusive society.”

It is great to get such fabulous feedback about one of our students and to hear that Luke has been such a great ambassador for the school and other young people in the work place.
