
Good Ofsted Report
We are delighted to announce that Ofsted have graded St Philip’s School as Good overall and Outstanding in the area of Personal Development, following their inspection which took place on 17 &18th January this year.
Principal Ben Walsh said, “The Ofsted inspection report highlights so many aspects of the fantastic work that goes on at St Philips especially in terms of recognizing our outstanding provision for Personal Development. I would like to thank all pupils for being such excellent ambassadors for our school, all the staff for their dedication and professionalism and to all our families for your continued support.”
Here are some of the highlights from the report:
Leaders’ relentless focus on developing pupils’ independence is exemplary.
Pupils experience an extensive range of opportunities that are designed to support their personal development.
Leaders have high expectation for what pupils can achieve. They have ensured that pupils study a broad and varied curriculum and there are a range of qualifications available. The offer has been carefully considered with pupils’ future in mind.
Leaders have constructed ambitious curriculum pathways that provide pupils with a range of choices, both in Years 10 and 11, and in the sixth-form provision.
Across all pathways, the curriculum is focused on ensuring that pupils are ready for the next stage of their education, employment or training. Pupils are supported to study subject that they may want to pursue such as media, forestry skills, childcare or photography.
Pupils at St Philip’s are happy and kept safe. They enjoy positive working relationships with staff and their peers.
Adults model calm and respectful behaviour. They encourage pupils to be thoughtful and kind to one another. Pupils are generally enthusiastic about school and keen to learn.
