‘Going All In’ for World Book Day

We celebrated World Book Day by dressing up in costumes and sharing our favourite books. This year’s theme was “Go All In” and there were lots of brilliant costumes representing all the different things pupils are “into”.

It was a great opportunity to celebrate reading and share some of the books that give us pleasure across the school.  Primary pupils used the library for their book scavenger hunt where they had to find books that featured a plane, a fact, a tiger and a happy ending.

Costumes sparked conversations on every corridor, and it was great to hear pupils asking staff about their favourite books.  Primary and Year 7 pupils were given World Book Day tokens which they can exchange for one of this year’s collection of WBD books or use towards a book of their choice in participating book shops.

Thank you to all families and staff for the fantastic costumes and helping inspire the pupils to dive into the wonderful world of reading.

Happy World Book Day!
