Ellingham School and St Philip’s animal care collaboration

For the second year in a row, year 3 students from Ellingham Primary School were able to visit the animals at St Philip’s.  Year 11 Animal Care students from St Philip’s invited four groups from Ellingham School to join us to visit our ever growing range of animals.  The experience included feeding the goats, stroking the rabbits and guinea pigs and holding a snake and a bearded dragon.

Mr Walsh said “This is a great opportunity for my students to develop their confidence and communication skills by showing off what they know about our animals while also providing a memorable experience for the year 3 children at Ellingham.  Our goats make for quite noisy neighbours so it is nice for the Ellingham children to put faces to the bleating. This year was particularly special as we were able to use our brand new animal care workshop for some of the session.”
