Class of 2026 Leavers Presentation Evening and Prom
We were delighted to celebrate the achievements of all those learners who are leaving St Philip’s this summer, many of whom joined the school in Primary or Year 7.
Mr Walsh welcomed parents, carers, staff and learners to the Leavers Presentation Evening and thanked everyone for coming. Speaking to the leavers he said, “It has been an amazing journey from your first day to where you are now.”
Leavers had chosen a member of staff to act as their sponsor for the event. Their sponsors paid tribute to each individual Year 11 and Post-16 learner about their time in school and there was much laughter over photos, recollection of funny moments and a few tears were shed too.
They were recognised for their academic achievement, sporting abilities, artistic and creative talents and the friendship and kindness they showed to each other. Ambitions for the future included going on to college to study Art, Science, Animal Care, Design Technology and sport.
The learners were then presented with a Leavers’ book and hoodie and had the opportunity to have a photo taken in the celebratory balloon arch. After the formalities our visiting family and friends were invited to view the GCSE art exhibition. They were then politely asked to leave for a few hours so that the leavers could let their hair down and dance with friends at their Prom event in the marquee on the school field.
It was a truly wonderful evening celebrating the journey and achievements of our 2026 leavers.
Good luck to you all – St Philip’s will miss you!
